Is the drive from Rye worth it?
Twenty minutes is a deliberate choice, so it is worth being clear about what it buys. Patients make this drive for implant surgery and complex restorative work, not for a cleaning.
Dr. Boiano completed a two-year surgical and prosthetic implant certificate at NYU, holds fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and teaches general practice and oral surgery residents at Westchester Medical Center. He performs the surgery and designs the final restoration himself, in a practice with its own laboratory on site.
Route and travel from Rye
I-95 south to the Hutchinson River Parkway, or the Hutch the whole way. Rye and Port Chester are both on the Metro-North New Haven Line.
Drive time is about 20 minutes in normal traffic — roughly 9 miles from Rye.
What Rye patients come here for
- Dental implants — placed and restored by the same dentist
- Same-day implants — a full arch with a fixed temporary in about an hour
- Sedation dentistry — nitrous, oral and IV, from mild to deep
- Cosmetic dentistry — designed with our technicians in the building
- 3D imaging — Vatech PaxDuo cone beam scanning
Anything else Rye patients should know?
Full-arch cases are a particular focus. Patients who have been told they must wear a removable denture for months while implants heal are often surprised that we can extract, place implants and fit a fixed temporary in about an hour — which for many people is the entire reason they had avoided treatment.
Why do Rye patients choose Dr. Boiano?
At this distance you should want more than a website telling you it is worth it. The record:
Education. DDS from New York University College of Dentistry. General practice residency at Westchester Medical Center, a Level I trauma center. A two-year surgical and prosthetic implant certificate from NYU — both halves of implant treatment, which is why one clinician can handle the whole case.
Credentials. Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) and Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI). He holds a teaching position at Westchester Medical Center, instructing general practice residents and oral and maxillofacial surgery residents.
Experience. In practice since 1995. Placing and restoring implants for over 20 years — and more than 95% of the patients treated 20 years ago still have their implants, without issues.
Equipment. CEREC MC XL and Sirona X5 milling units and Vatech PaxDuo 3D imaging, running in our own laboratory, Digital Dental Designs, on site. Very few private dental practices in the United States own their lab.
Still deciding? Read the reviews rather than our description of them — several hundred across both offices, many from patients who have been with the practice for two decades: Eastchester reviews on Google · Throgs Neck reviews on Google. Full background: Dr. Giovanni Boiano, DDS, FAGD, FICOI.
